Your agreement with Komiqo
Komiqo is operated by KOMIQO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17471659. Its registered office is 128 Saltergate, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, S40 1NG.
These terms apply when you browse Komiqo, create a collection, open an account or use marketplace features. By creating or using an account, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use an account.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. You are responsible for activity through your sign-in email and must tell us promptly about unauthorised access.
The service and beta status
Komiqo provides tools for cataloguing physical manga, tracking collections, and connecting members who want to buy and sell pre-owned editions. Catalogue information may come from third parties and can be incomplete or inaccurate.
Komiqo is in beta. Features may change, be paused or be unavailable. The marketplace can be disabled while collections and existing-order access remain available. A checkout clearly labelled as a test does not take a real payment and does not create a paid order.
Buyer and seller relationship
When a real checkout is introduced and a buyer purchases a listing, the sale contract is between that buyer and seller. Komiqo provides the platform and is not the owner, seller or buyer of listed books.
Sellers must say whether they are acting as a private individual or a business and comply with the law that applies to them. Business sellers must honour consumer cancellation, return and information rights. Private sales may not provide the same change-of-mind rights, but items must still match the listing and sellers must not misrepresent them.
Listings and member content
You may list only items you are entitled to sell. Listings must identify the correct edition, honestly describe condition and defects, use genuine photographs, state the full price, and follow the available delivery requirements. Counterfeits, unlawful items, misleading listings and attempts to move a transaction off-platform are prohibited.
You keep ownership of photographs, descriptions and other content you provide. You give Komiqo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, resize, reproduce and display that content only as needed to operate, promote and protect the service. We may use automated checks, moderate, reject or remove content.
Prices, payment and delivery
Before any real purchase, the checkout will show the item price, delivery price and any Komiqo fee. No charge should be treated as collected unless the screen and order record explicitly confirm a real payment.
Sellers choose which delivery service types they support. Available services are checked for the parcel and postcodes at the time of checkout. A delivery label should be bought only after payment is confirmed. Delivery is performed by the selected carrier under its own terms; sellers remain responsible for packaging and dispatching correctly.
Cancellations, returns and disputes
A cancellation starts as a request. It is not complete until the other party or Komiqo accepts it and the order record confirms the outcome. Where a label has already been bought, its cancellation and refund depend on the delivery provider’s rules. Payment, platform and delivery refunds may be processed separately.
Use the order or sales screen to raise the request and keep relevant evidence. Komiqo may review messages, listing details, tracking and supplied evidence to support an outcome. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, scrape it at unreasonable volume, evade controls, interfere with security, impersonate others, manipulate feedback, send spam or abusive messages, infringe rights, upload harmful content, or use another member’s information outside the relevant transaction.
We may warn, restrict, suspend or close accounts; hide listings; preserve evidence; or contact authorities where reasonably necessary to protect members, comply with law or enforce these terms.
Closing an account
You can export your collection and delete your account in Account settings. Deletion removes your active account and listings. Limited transaction or safety records may be retained where the law permits or requires this, as explained in the Privacy notice. Closing an account does not cancel existing obligations to another member.
Our responsibility
We provide the beta service with reasonable care but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that catalogue data is complete, or that another member will perform a transaction correctly. To the extent the law allows, Komiqo is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss or for loss caused by another member or third-party carrier.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you use Komiqo as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be highlighted in the service or sent to account holders where appropriate. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means the updated terms apply.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available where they live.
Questions, notices and beta feedback can be sent through Contact support or to contact@komiqo.co.uk.
